An Australian Barbeque
Although the word barbeque in America means cooking meat and then
coating it with sauce (with consistency and ingredients determined by
the area of the country where the cooking is done), in Australia the
word barbeque generally means cooking food outside on a grill. Meats
used for barbecues include varieties of fish (including octopus),
lamb, pork, and beef.
The food at this barbeque includes sausage (left), octopus
(back), lamb (front) and fish (right). Most barbeques also include
salad, bread, and dessert (we had strawberry pavlova and summer
fruit).
